Pathological waste is any waste that consists of recognizable human or animal derived tissues, organs, and body parts. This waste, generally generated from medical procedures, is considered a type of medical waste that must be properly disposed of. It is often found in dental offices, hospitals, medical laboratories, veterinary offices, and other medical facilities.
Like other medical and pharmaceutical waste, pathological waste requires special disposal. Destroyed by incineration, pathological waste is separated from the regular biohazard “red bag” waste stream. Such containers must be marked with the words “pathological waste” or “incineration only.”
At Maine Labpack, we have a variety of solutions for your pathological waste streams.
